Brunch at: Hally’s, Parsons Green

Bank holiday weekends at home in London call for a few essentials: endless mugs of tea, a bit of binge TV watching, picnics and, most importantly, brunch! For most of the weekend I didn’t stray far from home and, because of that, knew that there was one spot to head to for the perfect sunny Sunday brunch: Hally’s in Parson’s Green.

Though you can’t reserve a table at Hally’s and it can get rather busy, brunch is served until 4pm and we were in no rush, so by the time we headed down just after 2pm there was plenty of space for us to be seated right away.

The decor is bright and welcoming, with a cool Californian vibe that still remains cosy in the cooler months. On Sunday when we went the sun was shining, the tables outside were occupied, and all of the doors thrown open letting in some rays and a welcome cool breeze. It being after midday, it was only right that we ordered a cheeky cocktail to sip on while making our brunch choices: a mimosa for me and a tipsy lemonade for Elliot.

Tempted as I was by all of the healthy choices on the menu (avocado toast, I’m looking at you), it was Sunday, so it had to be a full English… with some Halloumi on the side for good measure.  The full English on offer at Hally’s really delivers, with two big meaty sausages, two juicy grilled mushrooms, crispy bacon, sourdough toast and two perfectly poached eggs. The beans, made in house, are absolutely delicious, consisting of butter beans and kidney beans doused a rich, slightly spicy, tomato sauce.

Hally’s is the perfect local spot to grab brunch and a cocktail in a cool and cosy setting, just time when you go well or you could be waiting a while for a coveted seat.
